Who We Are
I am Emilie Seitz, a Recreation Therapist with a passion for helping people live meaningful, active, and fulfilling lives in the comfort of their own homes and communities.
I am NCRTC certified and registered with both ATRA and CTRA. I bring over 10 years of experience working with individuals living with brain injuries, along with 2 years of experience in supportive living and 3 years working in Comprehensive Community Care. Throughout my career, I have developed a strong understanding of the importance of individualized care, meaningful activity, and maintaining independence and quality of life.
One of my particular areas of interest is fitness and physical health. In addition to my recreation therapy experience, I have worked in the fitness industry for over 10 years, teaching group fitness and aquatics. This combination of healthcare and fitness experience allows me to take a holistic approach to supporting individuals in reaching their physical, social, emotional, and recreational goals.
I chose Recreation Therapy because it brings together two of my greatest passions: recreation and healthcare. I believe that staying active, engaged, and connected to the activities that bring us joy is an important part of overall well-being at every stage of life.
Through my private Recreation Therapy practice, my goal is to help individuals maintain independence, participate in meaningful activities, and continue living active and fulfilling lives at home for as long as possible. I am passionate about finding creative, individualized ways to overcome barriers, build confidence, and support people in doing the things that matter most to them.
My approach is person-centred with a strength based focus. Helping turn recreation, movement, and meaningful activity into an important part of everyday life.
